The college being a state one, this means that the staff members are not permanent. As in any school system, there is the administration, the teaching staff and the ancilliary staff. There are mostly women in the staff given that it is a girls' college.

We have interviewed some teachers during the food day and sports day activities

“As everyone knows, it is extremely difficult to organize the sports day as we must first give a consent form to each girl. Then, collect money for transport fees, divide the girls in their respective team. We must also have the support of all the teachers whether staff or non-teaching staff and also the permission of the ministry before doing the sports day. But if we have the collaboration of all the students and even the Rector, teachers, administrators, ect…who will help us actively, it will be easier for us to organize the sports day.

There is a big problem at school. Most girls in Grade 11 or upper classes, want to change their team to go to a better one. So, to avoid this problem, we have decided to change all groups. Therefore, no Sapphire, no Amethyst and finally no Ruby but instead they have become Leopard, Cheetah and Panther.”

“I am very proud of my student for the preparations of the food day and also for the food day. They did not hesitate to give a helping hand to prepare the bread. Even the most talkative girls of the class collaborated to sell the hot dogs. We were the first stand to finish the selling of our foods. Eventually I am very satisfied.

“The preparations were quite well organised by the staffs and having Grade 7 students to participate for food day as first timers has been a very good experience for them .The students were a little bit lost as it was their first time but they were able to manage, they were able to cope with the selling of all items as well as taking care of hygiene. They were very helpful and they want to make more sales next year.”
